Acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has asked people to pray for his sick principal, state governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
This request was made by Aiyedatiwa on Thursday during a public broadcast announcing her appointment as Ondo public’s acting governor.

Recall that on Wednesday, Akeredolu officially gave over command to his deputy, Aiyedatiwa, before departing on medical vacation.
As they put the state back on the path of “accelerated progress,” the acting governor also exhorted the populace to embrace unity.
He asked the people to keep praying for their leader, Akeredolu, to quickly regain his health and strength, as they have always done.
In order to enable growth in the South-Western state, he urged citizens to embrace peace and unity.
“We must excuse unnecessary distractions,” Aiyedatiwa remarked. We are no longer able to be split by purpose or by areas of interest. We have to stick together all the way through.
“As stated in the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution, as amended, the primary goal of government is to enhance the welfare and security of our people. We must return stronger and more determined to do this.
From a divided history, let us construct a common future. We owe the wonderful folks of the Sunshine State no less.
