Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, the Acting Chief of Army Staff, has initiated an investigation into claims that army personnel engaged in brutality against a man and woman in Abuja.
In a statement signed on Tuesday by Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, it was mentioned that an investigation led by Oluyode would “unravel” the circumstances surrounding the video. He added that details of the incident are currently “not clear.”

The statement announced, “The Nigerian Army (NA) has become aware of a viral audio-visual recording spreading across social media platforms. It allegedly depicts a senior Army officer and two other soldiers involved in an altercation with a man and woman in the Abuja metropolis.”
The details leading to the incident remain unclear at this time. However, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, the Acting Chief of Army Staff, has initiated an immediate investigation to uncover the true circumstances surrounding this altercation.
The NA is dedicated to serving and safeguarding all law-abiding Nigerians, as outlined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
