The Katsina State Peoples Democratic Party Caretaker Committee has shown a growing division that might potentially overshadow the party’s attempts to unite prior to significant major events in the state.
Lawal Audi Yar’adua, the caretaker committee’s spokesperson, spoke to the media to discuss some recent issues brought up by a party group.
He disproved “misleading information” that a group led by the party’s former leader, Salisu Uli, had been spreading.
As previously reported by Obasanjonews.com on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, Salisu Uli expressed concerns during a press briefing at the Katsina PDP state headquarters about the fact that the caretaker committee members in charge of selling forms to interested members had not yet made them available, five days before the end of the scheduled form sales for the alleged congress elections.

Audi denied Salisu Uli’s faction’s allegation, stating that the form sales were openly discussed and finished more than two months ago, during which time Uli’s faction declined to take part.
Audi claims that Uli’s group chose not to participate in the party’s organised processes, such as the endorsement processes at the ward and local government levels, since they were preoccupied with challenging the legitimacy of the Committee at the time.
Audi expressed worries about possible outside interference, emphasising that Uli’s activities might have political undertones stemming from the Katsina APC.
He charged them with disobeying the national PDP’s congress guidelines.
In addition, he said that Uli and his allies—among them prominent people like Salisu Majigiri, a member of the House of Representatives—are allied with APC factions seeking to further erode the Katsina PDP in the wake of former Governor Ibrahim Shema’s conversion to the party.
In response to “attempts to destabilise the PDP,” Audi called for party cohesion. He contrasted Senator Lado Danmarke with those who promote conflict and complimented his leadership and commitment to the people.
“Our party’s genuine spirit of service and compassion is personified by Senator Lado Danmarke. Dan Audi said, “His steadfast dedication to the people of Katsina State distinguishes him from those whose sole goal is to sow discord and division.”
Dan Audi urged party members to continue supporting the PDP without wavering in the face of internal difficulties, expressing confidence in the party’s tenacity.
