The Israeli prime minister has pledged to defeat Hamas in Gaza with a “crushing victory.”

In an address to the country on Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel is a part of the forces of “freedom and progress” and light, while Hamas is a part of the “axis of evil.”

“The entire human race is being tested by our struggle against Hamas. Netanyahu declared in a televised speech that “it is a fight between the forces of freedom and progress and the Iran-Hezbollah-Hamas axis of evil.” “They are the people of darkness; we are the people of light.” The light will overcome the darkness.

In order to sustain the assault, Israel is enlisting the help of international leaders, as Netanyahu noted, “our war against Hamas is also their war.”

The October 7th incursion by the Palestinian organisation, which he described as “a dark day in our history,” will be “investigated thoroughly,” but not until after the conflict. Netanyahu countered that it is his responsibility to guide Israel “to a crushing victory over our enemies.”

The PM stated that Israel wants to “eliminate Hamas by destroying its military and governing abilities” and that it also wants to do everything within its power to release the hostages that were captured on October 7.

Netanyahu declared, “Above ground, below ground, outside Gaza, all Hamas terrorists are dead men walking.” “We are unleashing hellfire upon Hamas.” Thousands of terrorists have already been killed, and this is just the start.

Since the start of hostilities, 6,546 deaths have been reported by Palestinian officials in Gaza, at least 2,704 of them were minors. 1,405, according to Israel, were killed, the majority in the first Hamas strike.

Netanyahu gave Israelis assurances that the state would “not leave anyone behind” and would offer “continued extensive assistance for all citizens of the state, just like we did during COVID.”

In addition, he declared that there would be a “ground incursion” into Gaza, but he would not specify the date or the reason behind the operation’s need to remain secret “to better safeguard the lives of our soldiers.”

The US has requested that Israel postpone the ground attack at least until the end of this week, according to a Wall Street Journal story published on Wednesday morning. According to unnamed insiders, the Pentagon needs additional time to set up air defences around US locations in the region since there have been more missile and drone attacks.
