The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been instructed to abandon all additional preparations for the general election of 2023 and focus on the election of 2027.
Chief Niyi Ojo, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, made this claim while appearing on the THISDAY-monitored Voice FM current affairs radio program, “Setting The Agenda,” in Ado-Ekiti.
The recent suspension of some PDP candidates in Ekiti State due to anti-party activities was the basis for Ojo’s argument. He is the spokesman for Cyril Fasuyi, one of the APC candidates for the Ekiti North senatorial district. Ojo claimed that the psychological effects of the disciplinary measure rendered the PDP candidates non-starters in the upcoming election.
In their best interest, he particularly requested that the main opposition fire any members who divide the party.
A PDP candidate’s absence from the event that brought Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to Ekiti State led the National Working Committee to use the big stick, and those impacted should be ready to suffer the brunt of the punishment, according to Mr. Bola Agboola, secretary of the PDP Patrons in Ekiti State.
Both speakers urged the people of Ekiti State to utilize their own criteria to cast informed ballots in the next elections.
