We are also nearing the end of agreements with NIPOST to start using its fast mail service to deliver Nigerians’ passports wherever they are in the globe following manufacture.
In order to start home delivery of passports, the Federal Government says it is collaborating with the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST), although it was made clear that this service is only available to those who choose to use it.
This was stated by Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola on Saturday at the opening of the Nigeria Immigration Service Passport Front Desk Office in Auchi, Edo State.
The minister tweeted on his official account, “We are also in the final stages of concluding negotiations with NIPOST to begin the usage of its speed mail service to deliver passports to Nigerians wherever they are in the world after production.”

The sixth such office of its kind will open in 2023, he stated, as part of efforts to “bring passport application processing closer to the people.”
“We anticipate that the waiting time won’t exceed three days after we create more front offices similar to this one. The waiting time does indeed decrease the more front offices we have, he continued.
“Our long-term strategy will be to involve private operators who will provide the lounge for a fee, but the equipment and personnel will be provided by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS),” the statement continued.
