Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has urged Nigerians to keep embracing both the victories and the struggles of their country’s democratic journey.
The successes and difficulties, according to him, “will strengthen the resolve and dedication for the development of Nigeria.”
Dr. Saraki said in a statement on Monday in recognition of June 12th being Democracy Day, “we must uphold our commitment to building a Nigeria where liberty, justice, and the true spirit of democracy will flourish.”
The twice-elected governor of Kwara State also urged Nigerians to keep in mind the core principles of the system they chose to use to govern the nation.
According to Dr. Saraki, “it may not always be perfect, it may not always go our way, but the beauty of democracy is that every idea and inspiration can live to represent itself another day.”
