On Monday, there will be an extended period of power outage in numerous areas of the Federal Capital Territory due to scheduled maintenance at the Transmission Company of Nigeria’s Kubwa substation.
The announcement was made late on Sunday night in a statement by TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah.
She states that the Kubwa Substation’s three 33kV feeders would undergo maintenance on Monday starting at 10:00 a.m. and lasting until 5 p.m.

As a result, there will be a maintenance interruption in the electricity supply to Kubwa, Bwari, and the surrounding area from Abuja Distribution Company.
The three 33kV feeders in the Kubwa Substation will undergo regular repair, as announced by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). On Monday, December 4, 2023, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, maintenance will start.
As a result, power will be cut off on the aforementioned feeders tomorrow for seven hours, hurting AEDC’s customers in Kubwa, Bwari, and the surrounding areas that receive power from it.
The announcement states, “As soon as maintenance is completed, power supply will be restored to the affected areas.”
