Seventeen individuals have been abducted by kidnappers in Kawu village, Bwari Area Council, FCT. Disturbingly, the kidnappers have issued a threat to end the lives of the remaining 11 victims.

This threat has arisen due to the failure of their families to meet the demands for ransom money and a new Bajaj motorcycle.

The incident occurred on January 11, 2024, when a group of bandits raided Kawu, taking away 18 people, including a couple, the children of Kawu’s District Head, and a female nurse.

On January 22, 2024, four of the victims were released after a payment of N5m was made to the bandits. However, the remaining 11 victims continue to be held captive.

Bala Danjuma, a family member of four of the victims, revealed that the bandits’ leader contacted them on Saturday morning, threatening to kill the remaining hostages due to the delay in meeting their demands.

The FCT Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Adeh Josephine, has not yet responded to an SMS sent to her phone.
