Malam Buhari Abubakar, a public commentator in Zamfara State, has urged both the federal and state governments to take urgent action to combat the threat of insecurity in the state.
Banditry, in his opinion, was becoming more prevalent than it had been.
Nobody, according to Abubakar, should act as though everything is fine in the state because people haven’t been able to do so for more than ten years.
Allow me to inform you that the state’s marauding bandits currently rule over 400 villages and communities, he bemoaned.
“The terrorists established their own governments in these places and make decisions about what takes place and what needs to be done in the communities they control.
The townspeople are aware of these bandits and their hiding places, but for fear of being assassinated by terrorists, they are afraid to discuss or reveal them. They have been warned not to speak to any journalists because they risk being attacked by the bandits.
He contends that, contrary to popular belief, the federal government, and not the state governments, are entirely responsible for ensuring the safety of the lives and property of Nigerian residents.
“The state governments only provide logistical support to the security services so that they can easily carry out their legal efforts to protect the lives and property of the citizens.

“Zamfara State has undeniably turned into a bandit colony throughout the entire nation. The state is experiencing an alarming increase in the frequency of rapes, kidnappings, and senseless homicides.
Thousands of widows and orphans are reportedly wandering the streets aimlessly as a result of banditry that killed their dads and spouses, which is boosting the rate of almajeries, according to records.
Abubakar went on to say that if extreme steps are not taken, the federal and state governments will be powerless to stop these rapes, kidnappings, and murders that are committed with savagery. He also noted that there are corrupt individuals responsible for these heinous crimes and that the bandits are not acting alone.
