Deputies to Bishop David Oyedepo, Bishops Abioye and Aremu, are set to step down from their roles, signaling leadership transitions within the Living Faith Church.

The two Vice Presidents of the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel—Bishop David Abioye and Bishop Thomas Arema—are set to retire soon after serving for more than four decades and three decades respectively under the leadership of Bishop David Oyedepo.

This retirement is in accordance with the church’s operational manual, The Mandate, which recently updated the retirement age from 60 to 55.

Bishop Abioye is 63 years old, whereas Bishop Aremu is 67.

As a result of the new law, only Oyedepo is permitted to hold his position indefinitely.

Future leaders will be allowed to serve either one or two seven-year terms, contingent upon approval from the Board of Trustees.

The farewell service for Bishop Abioye is scheduled for Friday, October 18, 2024, in Durumi, Abuja. Meanwhile, Bishop Aremu’s service will be held at LFC Basorun in Ibadan, Oyo State on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
