Abia State Governor Alex Otti announced on Sunday that his administration had taken steps to save money and minimise the expense of governing.
During his monthly media engagement at Government House, Umuahia, Otti disclosed this.
The governor said that his government’s ability to pay salaries and pensions, as well as to mobilise contractors to the site of ongoing large developmental projects, was made feasible by the money saved from unnecessary spending by previous administrations.

“We have been able to reduce FAAC costs by eliminating unnecessary expenditures like giving a set sum of money to’stakeholders.'”
Otti declared, “In the new Abia, you have to work and earn money if you want to get money.”
According to Otti, the current administration is concentrating on financial reengineering to make sure that state resources are managed appropriately by experts for the greatest outcomes.
The state’s populace was reassured by the governor that their money was in capable hands.
