Abia Tribunal Decision: PDP assures supporters there is no need for concern
Okey Ahiwe, a candidate for governor on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party in the general elections for Abia State scheduled for March 18, 2023, has responded to the decision of the electoral petitions tribunal in Umuahia, which recognised Alex Otti as the legitimately elected governor of the state.
Soon after the tribunal’s ruling, Ahiwe sent a statement to his many followers, his legal team, family, friends, and associates in which Victor Nwokocha, his media adviser, expressed his sincere gratitude for their support.
According to a comment from Ahiwe in the statement, “there is no cause for alarm regarding the tribunal verdict as truth and justice will ultimately triumph.” Ahiwe also told his friends, fans, attorneys, and family members this.
The PDP candidate for the March 18 election said he had unwavering confidence in the judiciary and that his legal team would carefully review the tribunal’s decision before advising him on his course of action.
According to the statement, “Chief Ahiwe called on his thronging supporters to maintain peace and obey the law, assuring that, after due consultations with his legal team and that of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, leadership, he would keep them informed on the direction to take.”
