The Abia State Police Command has refuted claims made in a Police wireless signal dated April 26, 2024, which alleged that Policeman Ugochukwu Nwaso resigned from the force due to mistreatment by Police authorities.

Contrary to the report, the Abia Police Command clarified that Corporal Ugochukwu Nwaso, stationed at Eziama Police Station, is still actively serving as of May 1, 2024.

ASP Maureen Chinaka, representing the Commissioner of Police, issued a press release on Thursday denouncing the accuracy of the wireless signal, labeling it as outdated and not reflective of the current circumstances.

The Abia Police Command spokesperson emphasized that Corporal Nwaso remains on duty and invited individuals to verify his presence at the Eziama Police station division to confirm his active service status.

She further confirmed that as of May 1, 2024, Corporal Ugochukwu Nwaso was indeed fulfilling his duties at the division, countering the claims of his resignation as reported in the Police wireless signal.
