Abia Governor: INEC Returning Officer Prof. Oti offered me money to rig the election
Professor Nnenna Oti, the Returning Officer for the Abia State governorship election for the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, described how she urged that votes in the just ended election must count.
Oti, the vice chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, or FUTO, stated that despite being intimidated and given money, she refused to taint the Abia governorship race.
When she returned to the school on Tuesday, the vice chancellor informed the kids of this.
Vice Chancellor received a hero’s welcome from the school’s faculty and personnel.
In a widely shared video, Oti said: “As an electoral official, I’ve never taken part in an election before, but duty called.

“I sent my inquiries from Abuja and stated, ‘If I die, I die’…
They (names withheld) arrived with their bribes, cash, and threats, but I resisted.
I did not begin today. I have never deceived anyone as I stand here before God and Jesus Christ.
“I stated votes must count under me,”
With 175, 467 votes, Alex Otti of the Labour Party, LP, won the race for governor of Abia State, defeating Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Enyinnaya Nwafor of the Young Peoples Party (YPP).
