Abia Government guarantees peaceful yuletide season and urges criminals to vacate state
The Abia State Government has guaranteed a tranquil holiday season throughout the state.
The assurance was given on Friday by Naval Commander Macdonald Ubah (rtd), the governor of Abia State’s special adviser on security matters. He noted that the state government has put policies in place to protect the safety of people and property.

In Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, Ubah was speaking with reporters.
“Governor Alex Otti has issued marching orders stating that he wants this state to be completely safe during the upcoming Yuletide,” he stated.
As you may have noticed, many people have shown interest in returning for the holidays and New Year’s festivities this year.
As you are aware, the government launched Operation Crush and other security task forces equipped with the authority to combat criminal activity in Abia areas. These task forces are led by officials of the Nigerian police, Army, Navy, Civil Defence Corps, Immigration, and the Abia Vigilante Service, among other branches.
“They’ll keep running their business till after the holidays.
“These are the steps taken to ensure that the state is at peace.”
