Abia AGN Takes Aim: Slams National President Rollas Amidst Chapter Crisis, Calls for Resolution
The Abia State chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has called on the national leadership of the organization to promote peace and unity among actors.
During their monthly meeting in Umuahia, the AGN members expressed their concerns about the alleged instigation of conflicts by the National President, Emeka Rollas, within the Abia AGN.
They highlighted the fact that the duly elected Abia State Chairman, David Amalaha, has not been recognized by Rollas, who instead appointed Dorris Ogala as the interim Chairman.
This decision was made despite the existence of an elected executive led by Amalaha.
The actors also accused Rollas of inciting crises and intimidating members by falsely associating some of them with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) through a petition to the Zone 9 Police Command.

Additionally, they claimed that the AGN National office failed to compensate the families of deceased actors from Abia State, despite their significant contributions to the film industry.
In response to these grievances, the David Amalaha-led executive has taken the matter to the High Court in Umuahia to protect their fundamental human rights.
The actors urged the AGN National body to respect the court’s decision and cease creating parallel groups that undermine the Chairman’s efforts in Abia State
