The kidnappers of former NYSC Director-General, General Maharazu Tsiga, have made their demands, as security agencies work towards his safe release.
The kidnappers of retired Brigadier-General Maharazu Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), are now demanding a ransom of N250 million for his release.
The incident took place on Wednesday night when a group of heavily armed attackers invaded General Tsiga’s residence in Katsina State. According to witnesses, the assailants encircled the property and started forcefully breaking down doors, prompting the retired general to step outside and confront them.
Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, a federal lawmaker representing the Bakori/Danja Federal Constituency, confirmed the abduction by stating that the gunmen overpowered those present before taking General Tsiga away.
Following the incident, security forces have initiated an operation to find the kidnappers and secure the safe return of the retired military officer. However, despite these actions, security agencies have not released any official updates on their progress.
An anonymous source close to the family told Daily Trust on Friday that the kidnappers have contacted the family, demanding a ransom of N250 million for General Tsiga’s release.
