Governors of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) meet to discuss strategies and pledge to deliver renewed hope and better governance for Nigerians.
Governors from the Peoples Democratic Party have convened in Jos, Plateau State to address important governance matters impacting both their party and national issues. They will also review the recent elections in Edo and Ondo states, where they were defeated in both governorship races.
Bala Mohammed, the Chairman of the forum and Governor of Bauchi State, emphasized during his opening remarks at the meeting that the party remains committed to delivering good governance to citizens through its elected governors.
He highlighted the PDP’s unity and its status as a resilient political party that provides Nigerians with hope and effective governance.
We are here on the Plateau, and Governor Mutfwang has demonstrated that it truly is a melting pot where everyone feels welcome.
“The PDP is a united and unwavering party. Although we’ve faced minor challenges, our leaders and all branches stand together in solidarity. We are committed to collaborating closely to offer Nigerians improved governance opportunities,” Mohammed stated confidently.

Oyo State Governor and Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Seyi Makinde, reassured supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that the governors are committed to reforming the party and reinstating its leadership role in Nigeria.
Governors from Zamfara, Oyo, Taraba, Adamawa, Bauchi, and Plateau attended the meeting. In contrast, Delta and Enugu were represented by delegates. Osun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa did not have any representation at the meeting.
Among the esteemed guests at the Gala Night were Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, Governor Kefas Agbu of Taraba, and Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara. The Deputy Governors from Bayelsa, Enugu, and Plateau States also attended alongside PDP Acting National Chairman Illiya Damagum. Other prominent figures present included key party leaders like former Plateau State Governor Senator Jonah David Jang, former Kaduna State Governor Ahmed Makarfi, former Niger State Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, and Kabiru Tanimu Turaki SAN., who is the Chairman of the PDP Ministers’ Forum along with other stakeholders.
