Award-winning Nigerian artist Wizkid achieves another groundbreaking milestone, solidifying his legacy as a global music icon.
Nigerian artist Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has achieved a new Spotify record for the highest streams of any song.
The superstar’s newly released album, “Morayo,” has soared to the number one position on the Apple Music Nigeria Chart, with each track taking prominent spots on the charts.
One of the singles from his album, “Kese (Dance),” broke the record for the highest number of streams on its first day in Spotify Nigeria’s history, accumulating 1.5 million streams.
Another single, “Piece of My Heart,” also surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify on its opening day.
Reports indicate that Wizkid’s album, Morayo—meaning “I see joy” in Yoruba—is a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Juliana Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
The album, released on November 22, showcases a well-curated selection of artists from various genres.
