According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in order to protect the safety of its employees in Zone 9, patrol posts have been eliminated.
Zone 9 includes the states of Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo in the Southeast.
During his first visit to the Abia State Federal Road Safety Command Umuahia, Assistant Corps Marshall Winfred Uche Chukwurah, the Zonal Commanding Officer, FRSC (RS 9.3 HQ), Enugu, made this announcement.
During a working visit to the states under his command, which included Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Imo, Corps Marshall Chukwurah stated that “they are in a new era and as such should develop a new mindset” aimed at having positive attitude changes and significantly contributing to the success of the administration led by President Ahmed Tinubu.

In addition to praising the staff’s dedication and fortitude in carrying out their responsibilities, the Zonal Commanding Officer also highlighted the cordial relations between sister security agencies, the state administration, and the media.
Chukwurah underlined the necessity for the Corps to inform drivers and other road users about infractions and their repercussions. She also issued a warning against actions that could damage the Corps’ positive reputation.
Earlier in his statement, Corps Commander Frederick Ade Ogidan, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Abia State, stated that he was pleased with the work his officers were doing and that he intended to create more units in the state to make sure that drivers were safe in all of Abia’s hidden corners.
He asked the Abia government, as well as people and organisations, for help in achieving the goal that led to the creation of the Corps.
