The Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, or NUJ, has urged Governor Seyi Makinde and the state’s security services to send more agents to the Ogbomoso and Oke Ogun regions of the state.

The union stated that in order to combat the threat of kidnapping and other criminal activity in the area, this is important.

The call was made by NUJ in a communiqué following its Wednesday monthly congress.

The communiqué was provided to Obasanjonews.com on Thursday by Comrade Olusola Oladapo, the NUJ Secretary.

There are ten local government areas in Oke Ogun and five in Ogbomoso, according to Obasanjonews.com.

In the communiqué, the union pleaded with Makinde and the state’s security agencies to send agents to the areas right away.

The governor was also encouraged by the Oyo NUJ Council to address the problem of overcrowding in the majority of the state’s public secondary schools.

In order to prevent kidnappings and guarantee safety, the Council makes an urgent plea to the Oyo State government and security authorities to bolster security in the Ogbomoso and Oke-Ogun districts.
