Bodejo, who was taken into custody due to accusations of forming an armed militia that posed a threat to national unity, emphasized his poor health condition while being detained.

Through a motion filed by his legal representative, Ahmed Raji, SAN, Bodejo requested bail under lenient conditions until the case is resolved.

Despite being arraigned on terrorism charges, Bodejo maintained that the accusations were bailable offenses and highlighted his clean record.

Citing his constitutional right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, Bodejo argued that the charges lacked substantial evidence against him.

He assured the court that he would cooperate with the investigation process and attend all trial proceedings promptly if granted bail.

However, a counter affidavit submitted by Noma Wando from the Department of Public Prosecutions opposed Bodejo’s bail application, urging the court to reject it.
