On Wednesday afternoon, robbers ambushed motorists on Zamfara’s Funtua-Gusau Highway, resulting in multiple fatalities and a large number of captives.

One of the wounded was former House of Representatives member Kabiru Yahaya, according to his media assistant Musbahu Aliyu, who told reporters that the attackers blocked the route between Kucheri and Magazu in Tsafe Local Government at around 3:30 pm.

“The road was blocked by the gunmen’s indiscriminate shooting, which they timed to coincide with the arrival of vehicles to and from Gusau,” the man claimed.

Only his boss, he claimed, was brought alive to Tsafe General Hospital.

“The exact count of those slain or kidnapped remains unknown. “Everyone in the first car was kidnapped by them,” stated Aliyu.

In the state capital of Gusau, he said, his principal had been sent to another medical institution.
