7 people killed as NAF bombs terror kingpin’s base in Zamfara
Seven terrorists were killed as a result of precise airstrikes carried out by the Nigerian Air Force on infamous terrorist commander Mallam Ila, a supporter of sought terrorist mastermind Bello Turji.
The enclave of the infamous terrorist commander and gunrunner Mallam Ila was the target of airstrikes on November 18, 2022, and it was located around 9 kilometres east of Manawa village in Shinkafi local government area of Zamfara State.
According to military sources, Mallam Ila’s affiliation and closeness to terrorist leaders Bello Turji and Dan Bokoyo made him a high-value target.
Multiple explosions with enormous fireballs were seen following attacks on the area, according to one of the individuals, and they were “indicative of further high-inflammable items hiding in the vicinity.”
Seven terrorists, he added, “were also positively eliminated, and Mallam Ila barely escaped with only serious wounds.”
He stated that assaults in the Shinkafi general region of Zamfara State as well as areas of Kaduna, Niger, Kebbi, and Sokoto States were carried out by the foot troops of Ila, Turji, and Bokoyo.
Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the NAF’s director of public relations and information, later acknowledged the airstrikes and said that they would continue until all regions were free of state enemies.
The NAF and other security organizations, he claims, “remain on pace to see the ongoing counterterrorism endeavour to a definitive finish.”
Then, he urged Nigerians to keep providing security services with intelligence on criminal groups’ activities, stating that doing so is necessary to break the present security deadlock.
