5 members of Boko Haram are defeated by troops in Yobe
Three nights ago, in Geidam town, Geidam LGA, Yobe State, Nigerian Army troops killed five suspected Boko Haram insurgents and detained one.
Other terrorists who had been shot escaped the scene, and several insurgents’ motorcycles and AK-47 weapons were apparently confiscated.
According to a local shopkeeper who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the news was well received by the populace. The rebels from Boko Haram have been intensifying their activities on the outskirts of Geidam.

The Nigerian Army Troops’ prompt action in Geidam, where they killed five members of Boko Haram, pleased us. Given the rise in attacks, this development coincides with a period of time when many farmers were terrified to visit farms.
“Over three security officers have been killed and farmers have been threatened in the last two months.” He stated that the military was not happy with the way security personnel were handling the issue and that’s why Operation Lafiya Dole troops attempted to lessen the attacks.
You may recall that last Saturday, a group of alleged rebels assaulted a customs house in Geidam town, killing one officer, Usman Gombe.
Ambassador Khalid Geidam, a different prominent member of the Geidam community, stated that the military had confronted the terrorists “after receiving reliable intelligence regarding Boko Haram operations in the Geidam area.”
In a raid on the Boko Haram stronghold in Jororo, gallant men of 159 Battalion Geidam under the commanding officer’s leadership killed five (terrorists), detained one, and retrieved many AK-47 rifles while others fled with bullet wounds, he said.
