47 Brigadier Generals and 75 colonels have been promoted by the Nigerian Army
The Nigerian Army Council has given its approval for the promotion of 47 Brigadier Generals to the rank of Major General. Additionally, 75 Colonels have been elevated to the rank of Brigadier General.
In a statement released by Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, the names of those promoted to Major General were announced. These include Brigadier General WB Etuk, who serves as the Commandant of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management, and Brigadier General JE Osifo, who is the Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration.
Other officers who received promotions include Brigadier General WM Dangana, Brigadier General TB Ugiagbe, Brigadier General ASM Wase, Brigadier General MA Abdullahi, Brigadier General BI Alaya, Brigadier General AO Oyelade, Brigadier General OO Arogundade, and many others.
Furthermore, several officers were promoted from the rank of Colonel to Brigadier General. These include Colonel Nwakonobi, Colonel MC Akin Ojo, Colonel BM Madaki, Colonel MO Edide, Colonel KE Inyang, Colonel OO Nafiu, and others.
Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, extended his congratulations to the newly promoted senior officers and their families. He also urged them to work even harder to prove their worthiness of the promotion and the trust placed in them.
