400 people have died in the Congo floods

Nearly 400 people have perished as a result of the flooding that occurred in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo last week.

Many people, according to officials, are still missing.

For the villages of Bushushu and Nyamukubi, the torrential rains were particularly difficult.

Villages are being forced to bury the victims in mass graves due to the sheer number of fatalities.

The government of Congo has proclaimed Monday a day of national mourning.

Kenya and Uganda have also experienced recent severe rainfall.
