39 internet fraud suspects apprehended by EFCC in Edo

The Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) made a significant breakthrough on Thursday by apprehending 39 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud across various locations in Benin City, the capital of the state.

According to Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for the EFCC, the arrests were made based on credible intelligence pointing towards the involvement of the suspects in fraudulent activities related to computers.

Among the items confiscated from the suspects were eight cars, laptops, and mobile phones, indicating the extent of their alleged involvement in cybercrime.

Oyewale further stated that the suspects will soon face charges in court, emphasizing the seriousness of the offenses they are accused of committing.
