On Friday, hundreds of residents gathered in the Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State’s Malagum and Sokwong communities to bury those who had been killed in an attack earlier in the week.

A rumored militia group murdered them on Sunday.

There was an outpouring of emotions when the vehicle carrying the victim’s caskets arrived, leaving friends and family helpless to cry. The assailants took the lives of many people just as they were entering their prime, including children, elderly men and women, and young people.

During the funeral service, many family members, religious leaders, and politicians called on the government and security agencies to stop the attacks before they kill everyone.

During the memorial service, church officials spoke out against the attack and insisted that the government needed to take more action to protect civilians.

In his speech, the Most Reverend Julius Kundu, the Catholic Bishop of Kafanchan Diocese, said that the government was not doing its constitutional job of protecting the lives and property of its citizens.

He urged the populace to demand justice from the government as a result.

The two communities were attacked on Sunday by armed individuals who are thought to be militia ranchers. The attack was planned and organized.

In addition to the fatalities, the incident also resulted in several injuries. Additionally, the attackers set fire to a number of homes, farms, and other goods.

The attack, which is one in a string of attacks on the neighborhood, caused a migration of locals from their houses to nearby settlements. They claim they are worried about a new criminal invasion.
