33 deaths in nine months are recorded by the Kaduna fire service
During the state’s 252 fire incidents from January to September, the Kaduna State Fire Service reported 33 fatalities.
In a Friday interview in Kaduna with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Paul Aboi, director of the State Fire Service, disclosed the information.
In the same period, four people were injured, according to Aboi, who claimed that the service saved 15 people.
“The service saved property worth about N3.4 billion, while others worth N2.2 billion were destroyed within the period under review,” the official added.
He said that 21 auto-fire accidents, some of which resulted in fatalities, were recorded by the fire department and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The service’s head stated that by teaching locals on fire safety precautions, they were making every effort to limit the number of fire outbreaks.
In order to reduce the frequency of fire outbreaks throughout the state, Aboi recommended citizens to follow some basic safety precautions.
The dry season sees a higher number of fire outbreaks, therefore the locals need to exercise extra caution, he said.
