In the early hours of Saturday, around 30 farmers were reportedly abducted by terrorists in Kaduna State’s Chikuri hamlet of Chikun Local Government Area.
Dogara Peter, a local, told Sunday PUNCH on Saturday that his mother and sister were among the victims and confirmed the tragic incident.
He claimed that the victims had been kidnapped while on the job at Maikudi’s farms.
“Because we haven’t made touch with the kidnappers yet, our neighbourhood is in disarray. We urge the government and security to step up and make sure that everyone returns home safely.

Peter bemoaned the fact that this occurrence marked the third time someone in his family had been abducted, noting how it had severely harmed the family’s finances.
“There is no place for us to collect money for any ransom. This tragic tragedy has scarred the entire community. The government and the security services are our last line of defence, Peter continued.
Several calls made to Mansir Hassan, the public relations officer for the Kaduna State Police, went unanswered.
At the time this report was being filled out, he also didn’t respond to a text message that our correspondent had sent to him.
