Military officials have revealed that Operation Hadarin Daji’s Air Component’s airstrike last month resulted in the deaths of wanted terrorist kingpins Halilu Buzu, Yellow Kano, Alhaji Gana, and others.
According to information obtained, the attack decimated several terrorists and destroyed their logistical hub in Zamfara State’s Maradun Local Government Area.
According to sources, the airstrikes were carried out as a result of reliable intelligence showing that notorious terrorist Halilu Buzu of Sububu in Maradun LGA of Zamfara State had planned a meeting with local commanders and some of his foot troops in the early morning hours.
The intelligence report had pinpointed the precise site of his logistical base, where he and his cronies often keep their weapons, cars, motorbikes, and other illegally obtained stuff.
NAF aircraft subsequently launched simultaneous attacks on the meeting site and the logistical facility.
After the attack on the logistics base, a massive blaze was seen, suggesting that the area may have included some combustible or IED materials.
Due to his propensity for harassing and torturing his abducted victims, the source stated that Halilu Buzu’s removal “comes as a relief to people dwelling in Sububu, Anka (Bayan Daji), and Bayan Ruwa axis in Zamfara State.
Already, the incidence of kidnappings, cattle rustling, and other terrorist actions in the region has decreased as a result of his absence.
On November 14, 2022, similar airstrikes were carried out near Alhaji Ganai’s hideout in the Kidandan Forest in Kaduna State’s Giwa Local Government Area (LGA).
This occurred after intelligence had observed, followed, and established the pattern of Alhaji Ganai’s and his foot troops’ operations inside the area.
In response, the Air Component sent out an aircraft to destroy the enclave.
“Overhead, the fighter jet saw and repeatedly bombed the target.”
