A man named Ismail Olaitan, aged 29, appeared in front of the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Tuesday, facing charges of theft involving phones at a students’ hostel.
Olaitan, whose residence details were not disclosed, denied the accusations of theft brought against him.
The court was informed by the Prosecutor, Insp Olalekan Adegbite, that the defendant allegedly committed the crime on March 22, around 9 p.m., at Havana Royale Hostel in the University of Ibadan area.

Adegbite mentioned that Olaitan stole an Iphone valued at N265,000 and another android phone worth N170,000, both belonging to Aishat Adeyemi.
The charges against Olaitan are in violation of Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Oluwabusayo Osho, granted Olaitan bail amounting to N100,000, with two trustworthy sureties required to provide the same sum.
The case was adjourned by the Magistrate until May 8 for further proceedings.
