Over 2,565 students are unable to continue their studies as a result of the increase in tuition, according to Comrade Haliru Ibrahim, president of the Zamfara State Students Association at the Federal University of Gusau (ZAMSSA).
While taking questions from reporters at the university, the state capital, he revealed this.
He pleaded with Governor Dauda Lawal and other interested parties to take the required steps to support indigenous pupils.
He added that present problems and the elimination of fuel subsidies both play a significant impact in student dropout rates, particularly at the Federal University Gusau.
In order to support their education, he advised the students to obtain part-time jobs.
