23 villagers are shot and killed by bandits in the Kaduna community

On Wednesday night, Anguwar Danko village in the Kakangi constituency of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna was attacked by bandits, resulting in the tragic loss of 23 lives.

Reports indicated that a significant number of bandits entered the community, firing gunshots indiscriminately and taking numerous residents captive.

The bandits were reported to have moved freely within the community, which is situated approximately 10 kilometers away from Dogon Dawa village within the same LGA.

Yahaya Musa Dan Salio, the representative for Kakangi Ward in the State House of Assembly, confirmed the attack and the casualties, with 23 individuals losing their lives and five sustaining injuries.

Despite the chaos, some of the abducted villagers managed to escape into the surrounding bush for safety.

The bandits also stole cows from the community during the violent attack, adding to the devastation caused.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Interim Local Government Chairman of Birnin Gwari LGA, Alhassan Ibrahim Saulawa, verified that there were over 20 casualties as a result of the bandit attack.

The Interim Chairman, Salisu Isah, visited the affected community to express condolences and provide support to the victims and the wounded.

The exact number of abducted individuals remains uncertain, as many are still missing, having fled into the bush to evade the attackers.

The State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansur Hassan, assured that more information would be provided after gathering details from the area following inquiries about the casualties from the incident on Wednesday.
