2027: Tinubu Will Secure Second Term Despite ACF Opposition – Kwankwaso

Former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso asserts that President Bola Tinubu will win re-election in 2027, dismissing concerns over the opposition from the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF).

Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), claims that the Arewa Consultative Forum lacks the political sway to prevent President Bola Tinubu from achieving a decisive victory in the North during the 2027 presidential election.
Kwankwaso expressed in a statement released to journalists in Kano on Friday that the ACF lacks any political value or influence to prevent President Bola Tinubu from securing a significant victory with northern votes in 2027.
He was addressing criticisms from certain ACF members, including Solomon Dalung, directed at APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje regarding his statement suggesting that the North should wait until 2031 to regain power.
He stated that Ganduje was correct in suggesting the North should postpone discussions about power until 2031, as President Tinubu is effectively working to improve the country for all Nigerians and should be permitted to finish his eight-year term by then.
The prominent APC member specifically highlighted the president’s development efforts in the North, mentioning notable achievements such as setting up the Northwest Development Commission led by Barau Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate. Additionally, he approved a N150 billion railway line project for Kano city, overseen by Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi, Chairman of the House of Representatives Appropriation Committee. This is alongside several other projects.
He stated, “Northern Nigeria is currently bustling with numerous projects underway, all backed by President Tinubu. Even more initiatives are expected to commence once he secures a second term in 2027.”
Kwankwaso praised Dr. Ganduje for offering “sound leadership” to the APC, attributing this as the reason behind hundreds of opposition party members defecting to join the ruling party.
In addition to securing numerous states for the APC in runoff elections, Ganduje is consistently welcoming Senators, members of the House of Representatives, and other high-ranking officials from various parties into the APC.
In Kano State, the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has been welcoming former commissioners from the NNPP Government and other prominent members of the NNPP into the APC.
“The APC stalwart added that these and many other strong points clearly demonstrate that, God willing, President Tinubu will convincingly secure a second term in 2027.”
