Peter Obi has dispelled rumors surrounding his political ambitions, affirming that he never stated intentions to serve as vice president to any candidate in the 2027 elections.
Peter Obi, the presidential flagbearer of Labour Party (LP) in the upcoming 2023 general election, has denied ever expressing interest to be a running mate to anyone for the 2027 polls.

Obi responded to an alleged misinterpretation of his recent interview in a post using his official X handle.

The ex-governor of Anambra State expressed his reluctance to lose sight of the immediate problems faced by Nigerians, such as hunger, poverty and insecurity, while fixated on planning for 2027.

I made it clear that I am willing to collaborate with others as long as their motives do not revolve around seizing control of the government. Additionally, I stressed my dedication to teaming up with individuals who are aligned in furthering Nigeria’s development and growth goals.

I reiterated my dediction to the Labour Party and emphasized that anyone interested in forming a partnership must be transparent about their motives.
