2027: Kwankwaso Ready to Be Peter Obi VP Under Certain Conditions
Kwankwaso reveals his readiness to serve as vice president to Peter Obi in the 2027 elections, provided certain conditions are met. Discover what he had to say about this potential partnership.
Rabiu Kwankwaso, who was the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) presidential candidate in the last general elections, has expressed his willingness to serve as Peter Obi’s deputy in the 2027 presidential race.
In a video recently shared on X, the former governor of Kano State spoke in Hausa and voiced his willingness to support Obi “if certain conditions are met.”
Kwankwaso highlighted his political prominence by stating, “I have more political experience than Peter Obi; I am older and hold a PhD. My performance as governor of my state surpassed his achievements. I’m open to the idea of being Peter Obi’s deputy, but specific conditions need to be fulfilled.”

He added that there is a possibility of having meaningful discussions with Obi, stating, “We are open to engaging in talks as long as trust is established.”
In the most recent elections, Peter Obi from the Labour Party secured a third-place finish with around 6,101,533 votes. Meanwhile, Kwankwaso obtained 1,496,687 votes and finished in a distant fourth place.
Remember that Kwankwaso has been outspoken in his criticism of the Nigerian government under Bola Tinubu, accusing it of politicizing the distribution of rice palliatives in Kano State and other related issues.
