Wike asserts that Atiku will not clinch the PDP presidential ticket in 2027, intensifying internal party tensions and hinting at future political shifts.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who was the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Presidential candidate in 2023, will not have an opportunity to secure the party’s nomination for 2027.

During a live media discussion in his office in Abuja on Wednesday, Wike revealed this information.

When asked about Atiku’s recent assertion that his economic blueprint would benefit Nigerians more effectively than the current administration’s strategy, Wike responded by saying that Atiku had already shared his plan with the Nigerian people in the past and they did not accept it.

He questioned, “Didn’t he present it to Nigerians? Was he chosen by them? He’s trying to secure another chance, but that opportunity won’t be available. In which party would this happen? How can we depend on one individual for such a long time?”
