Nigeria is currently trailing by four points from the top position in Group C of the 2026 World Cup qualifying series in the African zone.

The recent 2-1 loss to Benin Republic has left the Super Eagles with only three points after playing four matches. Unfortunately, their qualification prospects for the tournament were further diminished due to the outcomes on Tuesday.

South Africa’s 3-1 victory over Zimbabwe and Rwanda’s 1-0 triumph against Lesotho have resulted in all three teams sharing the top spot with seven points each.

Lesotho is in fourth place with five points, while Nigeria is in fifth place with three points.
