Bruno Onyemaechi, the defender for Boavista, is a serious doubt for Nigeria’s FIFA World Cup qualifying matchups against Zimbabwe and Lesotho in 2026.
During Boavista’s 3-1 loss to Farense on Sunday, Onyemaechi was hurt.
In the 56th minute, Filipe Ferreira took the left-back’s spot.

In recent games, the 24-year-old has been a frequent starter for the Super Eagles.
Jamilu Collins of Cardiff City is the other left-back on the squad.
Due to injury, Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze, and Victor Osimhen were left off the team for the games.
Lesotho will visit Uyo on Thursday, and three days later, the Super Eagles will travel to Rwanda to play Zimbabwe in the opening round of the 2026 World Cup qualification competition.
