Ademola Lookman has been named by South Africa’s head coach, Hugo Broos, as Nigeria’s danger man ahead of their match on Friday (today) at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Lookman, who has scored five goals in his in three games for Serie A team Atalanta, is in excellent form going into the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The winger made an even bigger impression in six games at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he notched three goals and one assist.

Broos acknowledged Lookman’s threat but insisted they would concentrate on their game.
In Uyo, Broos told reporters, “Obviously, Ademola Lookman is the danger man, but we are not focusing on that.”
“We are concentrating on our game; at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire, we demonstrated our ability.”
