Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has made a prediction that the continuous influx of illegal immigrants into the United States could have significant implications for the outcome of elections in the country.
Musk, who was born in South Africa, believes that the Democrats are intentionally avoiding addressing this issue in order to tilt the balance in their favor. His comments came in response to the passing of the Equal Representation Act by Republican lawmakers in the House of Representatives. This act would require the Census Bureau to include a question about citizenship in its surveys every ten years.
The aim is to ensure that only US citizens are counted when determining the number of congressional seats in each state. House Speaker Mike Johnson argued that states and cities that violate federal immigration laws and maintain sanctuary policies should not be rewarded with increased congressional representation.
On the other hand, Democratic Representative Grace Meng of New York criticized the initiative as being reckless, cynical, and illegal. President Joe Biden’s office expressed strong opposition to the measure, stating that it would prevent the Census Bureau from fulfilling its constitutional responsibility. Musk took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his views, highlighting the unanimous opposition from Democrats to requiring citizenship for apportionment of House seats and Presidential electoral college votes.
He believes that the Democratic Party’s goal is to disenfranchise US citizens by importing as many illegal immigrants as possible, and he predicts that the 2024 election may be the last one decided by US citizens due to the significant influx of illegal immigrants from various countries.
Musk claimed in February that the Biden administration is aiming to bring in a large number of illegal immigrants, grant them legal status, and establish a lasting majority to create a single-party system.
Reports suggest that the US may currently have up to 16 million undocumented migrants, with over 7.2 million entering the country while Biden has been in office.
The topic of weak border security between the US and Mexico has been a major focus in American politics for several months, with Republicans pushing for stricter measures and Democrats supporting a more lenient stance on the matter.
