The voters’ list for the general elections in Ebonyi in 2023 is being shown by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as of Friday in Abakaliki.

The voter’s register exhibition, according to Mr Clement Oha, the Commission’s administrative secretary in Ebonyi, is a crucial pre-election activity that enables registered voters to lodge claims and objections as well as other concerns impacting their registration.

Oha instructed the 13 INEC Electoral Officers (EOs) for the 13 Local Government Areas of the state to see that the voter registrations are posted in the 171 electoral wards in Ebonyi after distributing copies of them to them.

“I know that the commission has trained workers who are going to carry out the activity. The exhibition of the voter’s records, which began today, Nov. 11, is to enable the voters throughout the 171 registration locations to lodge claims and complaints.

We can send the registrations to the various Local Government Areas today thanks to the authorization of the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mrs Pauline Onyeka.

Oha said, “We charge the EOs and their subordinates to guarantee that the exercise is carefully carried out; that persons coming out for claims and complaints are thoroughly attended to, and we will not accept a scenario

He cautioned the participants in the exercise against engaging in any sort of truancy or laxity, stressing that the REC and the different heads of departments would be closely watching their behaviour. (NAN)
