2023 Election: NNPP candidates, others in Zamfara switch to the APC
Both the NNPP’s candidates for the Zurmi/Shinkafi Federal Constituency and Zamfara North senatorial seat, Hon. Ibrahim Son-Allah Abubakar and Hon. Suleiman Garba Zurmi, have defected to the APC.
Both Hon. Ibrahim Son Allah and Hon. Suleiman Garba stated in their respective addresses that they joined the APC because of the administration of Bello Matawalle’s outstanding improvements in tackling insecurity in their respective areas, which have brought about relative peace.
They pledged to put forth a lot of effort to ensure the party’s success at all levels.
As he welcomed them into the APC, Governor Matawalle stated that the reason so many individuals are defecting from their parties is because the Zamfara people are happy with the APC leadership under his watch.
He pledged to keep up the pace in his battle against banditry until the desired outcome is attained.
Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, the state APC chairman, presented the NNPP candidates to the governor at the Government House in Gusau.
The Zamfara State APC Secretary, Honorable Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima, the Speaker, Honorable Nasiru Maazu Magarya, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, the state APC working committee, Commissioners, Special Advisers, Directors General, and party supporters were among those present at the event.
