Atiku Abubakar, a candidate for president from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated that the DSS should detain Fani-Kayode, the campaign’s director of new media, for making offensive remarks.
In a statement on Sunday, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku’s special assistant on public communications, praised Ben Llewellyn-Jones, the British ambassador, for naming Fani-Kayode and other individuals who had made incendiary remarks.
The British ambassador named Fani-Kayode, among other individuals, for making provocative remarks.

Shaibu emphasised that the Secret Service’s warning to politicians not to overheat the political scene had been botched by the former minister of aviation, Fani-Kayode.
He said that if Fani-Kayode was left to his own devices, Nigeria would fall into total chaos.
He exhorted Nigerians to laugh off Fani-Kayode.
“We agree that the DSS’s statement telling politicians not to make things too heated is right on time. Still, he asked the security force to hold Fani-Kayode because he didn’t listen to the advice of the DSS when he said he would make Nigeria unruly.
