Nigerian-born Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, the 2023 Ballon d’Or winner in Paris, France, is presently rated seventh in the world.

Osihmen, who was one of the few Nigerians to be nominated for the Ballon d’Or, outperformed himself by finishing in the top 10.

For the Italian team, who won the Serie A championship for the first time in thirty-three years, Osimhen was in outstanding form. When the Naples club won the league the previous season, he was awarded the Pichichi, the top goalscorer award.

The 24-year-old became the first African winner of the award with 25 goals.
