Atiku Abubakar, a candidate for president in the People’s Democratic Party, and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, his running partner, paid a visit to former military leader Ibrahim Babangida on Friday in Minna, Niger State, ahead of the general elections in 2023.
Along with other PDP officials, Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto and Dairus Ishaku of Taraba attended the visit to IBB.
According to information obtained by PlatinumPost, the PDP leaders and the former president met behind closed doors to discuss matters related to the 2023 elections.
General Ibrahim Babangida is always a pleasure to spend time with, Mr Atiku said in a statement following the meeting.
His advice and comprehension of our nation are invaluable as we attempt to restore Nigeria’s economy and security after years of deterioration.
Additionally, Mr Okowa expressed gratitude to Babangida for “his insightful advice on our ongoing efforts to #RecoverNigeria for all Nigerians.”
Former governors of Imo, Niger, and Adamawa, Emeka Ihedioha, Babangida Aliyu, and Boni Haruna, were also present during the meeting.
