2023–24 NPFL season will start on September 30

This weekend marks the beginning of the 2023–24 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

The news was shared with all 20 teams in an official communication from the NPFL board.

The league’s governing body also announced that each club would receive a N20 million take-off subsidy.

Due to this weekend’s continental activities, games involving CAF Confederation Cup contenders Rivers United FC and Bendel Insurance FC will be postponed.

The second leg of Rivers United’s second round match against Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso will take place on Sunday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.

In order to play previous champions RS Berkane in the second leg of their match, Bendel Insurance will travel to Morocco.
